I screen recorded the Space X video of their rocket booster returning to earth from 60 miles above, and being caught in mid air by the arms of a gantry, in Texas.
A stunning feat, which I put my humble music to. It shows what can be when we work in concert toward a common goal; with no Devils.
I've been playing with dreamy laid back styles on guitar. This one called out in a Celtic or Nordic way. Then, logging into my studio system I was presented with a hi-res picture of an abandoned castle. Cool subject, so I read about castles in Scotland built during the Dark ages. Imagine an incredibly storied past led by Monarchs, peasants, warriors, and maidens.
Sometimes I put chords and melodies together while being unsure what the sentiment is. I may be enjoying the sound and arranging the piece into a song, but I don't know what it could be about, I have no ideas for lyrics. After recording the acoustic rhythm guitar, I overlayed an electric lead guitar. I knew there was a gloominess to it, so to tell the story, I started with an image of a train traveling under power lines through the fog of an inner city.
Marquis de Lafayette believed in the American Revolution of 1776. France believed in supporting the American revolution to destroy their rival, England.
Lately I've been playing into songs that feel like the affirmations of a good future. Take this energy and do what you please.
I've always felt such organic energy from this song, but only a few nights ago, I let it rip with my electric guitar, playing over 'Nothing to Lose'. We all hear sounds and see colors a little differently, here I put together a solo that communicates how this song makes me feel inside. Then I wondered if there were many pics of Tupac holding a guitar. Low and behold, he played bass guitar. I've loved him from afar, never been to a show. Rest in Peace.
